- A place for friends to gather and view stock market charts, discuss technical analysis and market outlook. What is your Principal Asset? How can it be developed? Each and all should do their own due dilligence and homework before investing. And by no means should you use anything I say or show here as a sole basis to buy or sell securities as everything is for educational experience only.

$SPX - zoomed quarterly moved Fib retracement
On this long term quarterly I decided to zoom in and move the Fib retracement to the lows of 2003. Pretty interesting indeed. Notice how the 50 quarter SMA acted as support for at least nine months before the move higher in 2003. Now that blue line will be resistance.
I think I'll be adding more Leap Puts in thirds on blind moves above 1175, 1200 and 1225.

EUR/USD
Most are watching the Euro and US Dollar for a play on the commodoties. Basically a failure of 1.33 to hold as support will mean a further unwinding of long trades. This will ripple through Gold and Oil and their related stocks for some high volatility. Bottom line is still hinging on Greece and bailout talks.

Retest to $102.75?
I'd say if it can't hold 107.45 then 102.75 it is and a bounce from there.

The cool thing about Think or Swim charting with Prophet Charts is you can easily do comparison or ratio charts to see how one entity may relate to another. Just screwing around I threw up a long term monthly chart of the Dow 30 and the S&P 500. I find it interesting that Fibonacci retracements are significant levels even on a ratio.
And by drawing the green trendline you can see that a major move will commence in the next 3 months as the trianlgle formed will be broken in one direction or the other.

POT
Agriculture space is seeing sector rotational buying. Best in breed here is definitely Potash whcih just raised forecasts.
POT should open today above the 61.8% Fib retracement and this would be a good trade to the long side using 120.60 as a contingent stop.

Stockpickers competition update
The colors tell the story Green is good and Red is bad. Bruno is behind by over 10% total after two months, but it is still early and this market is definintiely bi-polar.
$SPX
This is why you are hearing so much about 1150 on the S&P. Here's a thought: the market has expended alot of energy to get back to this level, can you say "Double Top"
A good trade setup would be to use 1150 to get short with a stop just above at 1154.

With an hour left to the trading day the S&P has broken out of the latest traingle. One would expect little resistance to the 1128 level; however, there is a struggle to breech the 1115.
I'm waiting for a bounce play to the down side above 1120.

Goldman is "climbing the wall of worry" as it traces along the 50 week Simple Moving Average.
This pretty much sums up most stocks as they are in between and stuck in ranges. Patience is the key and if you have the ability to put on some condor options trades time decay is your friend.
