The cool thing about Think or Swim charting with Prophet Charts is you can easily do comparison or ratio charts to see how one entity may relate to another. Just screwing around I threw up a long term monthly chart of the Dow 30 and the S&P 500. I find it interesting that Fibonacci retracements are significant levels even on a ratio.

And by drawing the green trendline you can see that a major move will commence in the next 3 months as the trianlgle formed will be broken in one direction or the other.

POT

Agriculture space is seeing sector rotational buying. Best in breed here is definitely Potash whcih just raised forecasts.

POT should open today above the 61.8% Fib retracement and this would be a good trade to the long side using 120.60 as a contingent stop.

CSCO - Prior to BIG news

Here is a 5yr weekly chart of CSCO prior to the release of news that will "change the internet forever" according to them. Wonder if the market will sell the news?

Stockpickers competition update

The colors tell the story Green is good and Red is bad.  Bruno is behind by over 10% total after two months, but it is still early and this market is definintiely bi-polar.

This is why you are hearing so much about 1150 on the S&P. Here's a thought: the market has expended alot of energy to get back to this level, can you say "Double Top"

A good trade setup would be to use 1150 to get short with a stop just above at 1154.

With an hour left to the trading day the S&P has broken out of the latest traingle. One would expect little resistance to the 1128 level; however, there is a struggle to breech the 1115.

I'm waiting for a bounce play to the down side above 1120.

Goldman is "climbing the wall of worry" as it traces along the 50 week Simple Moving Average.

This pretty much sums up most stocks as they are in between and stuck in ranges. Patience is the key and if you have the ability to put on some condor options trades time decay is your friend.

Sirius - XM beat the street reporting earnings this morning and incresed their forecast projections for the remainder of the year. In pre-market trading the stock is virtually unchanged at $1.10.

Look for a "shakeout" move on selling the news. This may be the opportunity to add to your long position.

Remember a break of $1 and all long bets are off.

As I'm posting this the market opened and you are seeing the daily range as of 9:35 am.

(GLD/MO)

Here's an update on the GLD/MO trading pairs chart on a 5yr weekly. I find it interesting that a long term flag is forming and the pair is near a bottom inflection point of 5.21.

This chart is definitely showing the effect of the US dollar on GLD and the dividend yielding equity Altria. The recent rise in the greenback is shown as gold and GLD have pulled back and MO has risen and also shows there is a little more room in this direction. Perhaps the $83.00 target on the dollar will become a reality.

I plan on poring back my GLD short and begin looking for entry points to switch to long and possibly get short on MO as the dollar rise tops out.
